OUR STORY
ADTEL On-Hold Messaging started way back in 1982 as the brainchild of Gerry Gerling, a former radio account executive in Edmonton, Alberta. The idea for professional on hold messaging came to him while he was attending an IBMA conference in the USA a few years prior. After two years of sourcing the recording equipment and another two years of searching to find the perfect creative writers, voice talents & audio productions crew the business was finally launched.
Considered a pioneer in the telephone hold messaging industry, we have experienced exceptional growth since our humble beginnings in 1982. Today, our in-house production team services thousands of subscribers across Canada and the United States. We also have clients in England, Australia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
Our staff consists of a team of full-time creative writers, production engineers, customer service representatives, telecommunications/sound technicians and IT specialists, as well as administrative and accounting personnel. Our professional expertise is unmatched; having several hundred years of combined experience in radio, television, broadcast schools, telecommunications and graphic arts.
In fact, ADTEL was the first telecommunications company to develop its own fully digital remote download playback machine for telephone hold applications and one of the first North American companies to deliver background music via Satellite.
